Consultant - Miss Nicola Roche

Miss Nicola Roche FRCS MCh

NHS base: The Royal Marsden

Miss Nicola Roche is a Consultant Breast Surgeon at The Royal Marsden NHS Foundation Trust.   

She graduated from Medicine in 1989 from Trinity College, Dublin.  She was appointed Consultant Breast Surgeon at the Royal Free Hospital in 2002 and moved to the Royal Marsden Hospital in 2006.  Privately she is based at The Lister Hospital where her clinics run every Tuesday.  

Miss Roche provides same day assessment clinics so that symptomatic breast patients can have all the necessary investigations on the day of their appointment.  Her interests include risk assessment and management of women at high risk of breast cancer, the ‘oncoplastic’ approach to breast surgery, and the management of young women with breast cancer including pregnancy-related breast cancer.


Consultant - Steven Allen

Dr Steven Allen MB BS BSc MRCP FRCR

NHS base: The Royal Marsden

Since January 2007, Dr Steven Allen has been the lead breast radiologist at The Royal Marsden NHS Foundation Trust.  He is a breast screening radiologist at the South West London Breast Screening Service at St Georges Hospital and a specialist advisor to the National Institute for Clinical Excellence on radiological breast interventional procedures. 

Dr Allen performs minimally invasive procedures with the intention of obviating surgery in selected cases.  As well as producing successful results through these procedures, Dr Allen has published research in this field.  He leads the breast MRI service at the Royal Marsden, with clinical indications including symptomatic work up, presurgical planning and high risk screening.

Dr Allen is interested in the mammographic quantification of breast density and digital breast tomosynthesis and is currently researching in these areas.  He also reports cross sectional oncological CT and MRI examinations at The Royal Marsden and has a secondary interest in urological oncology.


Consultant - Miss Christine Robinson

Miss Christine Robinson MA MB BChir FRCOG FFRSH

NHS base: Southwark Primary Care Trust

Miss Christine Robinson trained in Gynaecology and Sexual and Reproductive Health, and practices as a Consultant Medical Gynaecologist in Southwark, linked to Guys and St Thomas' hospitals.  Whilst highly experienced in all aspects of medical gynaecology, her two principle areas of clinical interest are contraception and menopause management. She is a recognised expert in these fields.

Currently she is President of the Faculty of Sexual and Reproductive Health of the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists (RCOG).  Whilst in this role, Miss Robinson has established the new medical speciality of Community Sexual and Reproductive Health with all associated post graduate training curricula, systems and governance.

Miss Robinson developed and ran a medical Gynaecology unit in Bedfordshire, which was one of the first in the country, and was awarded a Charter Mark for quality of care.

Christine graduated from Cambridge University and St Thomas' Hospital. She trained at St Thomas’ and St Mary’s Hospitals in London and at Addenbrookes Hospital, Cambridge.


Consultant - Mr Michael Stafford

Mr Michael Stafford MD MRCOG

NHS base: Chelsea and Westminster Hospital

Mr Michael Stafford has published and contributed to a wide range of specialist publications covering his specialist areas of general gynaecology, urogynaecology, colposcopy and infection including sexually transmitted disease. As a Medical Research Council research fellow he was awarded his MD thesis in 1998, concerning methods of preventing HIV transmission. He has also written a book on doctor/patient communications in gynaecology "Patient Pictures". Michael is Gynaecology Service Director and clinical lead for the Urogynaecology Service at the Chelsea and Westminster Hospital, as well as running a busy general gynaecology and pregnancy control service.

Michael graduated from the Medical College of St Bartholomew's Hospital in 1986 and was awarded MRCOG in 1993 and MD in 1998. He became a Consultant in Obstetrics and Gynaecology at the Chelsea and Westminster Hospital, London in 2000 where he is currently Chairman of the Hospital Medical Staff Committee. Michael is also the surgical member of the Riverside Ethics Committee, Director of the North West Thames advanced post-graduate training modules and an undergraduate interviewer, examiner and tutor for Imperial College.

How to find Cadogan Hall

The easiest way to travel to Cadogan Hall is by public transport. The Hall is a very short walk from Sloane Square station and is easily accessible from Victoria mainline station

 

By tube:

Cadogan Hall is only 2 minutes walk from Sloane Square Underground station District and Circle lines). Sloane Square itself is only one stop away from Victoria, which has mainline and additional London Underground connections.

Turn right out of Sloane Square tube station, cross Cliveden Place and walk up Sedding Street to the Hall.

 

By bus:

Frequent bus services stop in Sloane Square and neighbouring streets including Kings Road, Sloane Street and Lower Sloane Street. Bus services include numbers: 11, 19, 22, 137, 211, 319, 360 and C1.

 

By car:

Local parking facilities are strictly controlled in the Sloane Square area and there is limited space available. The nearest NCP car park is approximately half a mile away in Cadogan Place (underground car park), just off Pont Street. The car park operates 24 hours a day from Monday to Sunday.

Taxis are numerous in the area and there is a taxi rank located on Sloane Square opposite the tube station.
