Mr Sam Rajaratnam is one of the leading Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeons in the UK, and specialises in all aspects of knee surgery.
His London Practice, The Chelsea Knee Clinic Ltd. is based at The Lister Hospital, Chelsea.
Sam is recognised throughout the UK as a leading knee specialist, and performs amongst the highest number of successful knee replacements in Europe annually, as recorded in the UK National Joint Registry, with excellent outcomes.
Mr Rajaratnam qualified from Guy’s and St Thomas’s Hospital in London with a First class degree in anatomy and an MBBS in 1997. He then trained via the Royal College of Surgeons at some of the world’s best knee units in Australia and the U.K.
He was awarded the Walter Mercer Gold Medal for the best performance throughout Great Britain and Ireland in the final FRCS Orthopaedics and Trauma examination in 2006.
Having been appointed Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon in 2008, he has now become one of the leading knee surgeons in the country with an excellent national reputation.
He is a leading exponent of "rapid recovery following joint replacement surgery" and also has an interest in cartilage repair techniques, and has developed successful day case Knee ligament reconstructive programmes.
He was the Senior Educational Tutor to the London and KSS Deaneries between 2011-14, and continues to have active role teaching and educating the next generation of Orthopaedic Surgeons.
