Mr Laban is an experienced and brilliant neurosurgeon who has worked across London and the UK as well as Australia.
Whilst at the prestigious Imperial College London, he received the Wolfson Scholarship for his intercalated BSc(Hons) in neuroscience from the University of London. He completed postgraduate neurosurgical training at the National Hospital for Neurology and Neurosurgery, Charing Cross Hospital, Addenbrooke's Hospital, Hurstwood Park Neuroscience Centre, King's College Hospital and St George's Hospital, London.
After qualifying as a specialist neurosurgeon in the UK, he obtained further expertise in spinal, neuro-oncology and vascular neurosurgery as the Neurosurgical Fellow at Royal North Shore Hospital, Sydney.
He has presented and published nationally and internationally and was awarded the HCA International Foundation and Codman Neurosurgical Scholarships. He is a fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of England, a member of International League Against Epilepsy, and a member of the Society of British Neurological Surgeons.
He specialises in back pain, sciatica, neck and arm pain, lumbar and cervical disc degeneration, simple and complex spinal surgery, hydrocephalus, vascular neurosurgery, and neuro-oncology (brain and spinal tumours) including awake cranial surgery.
He has a particular interest in understanding the underlying pathophysiology of patient’s symptoms and using minimally invasive techniques and neuro-monitoring in cranial and spinal surgery to improve safety.
