The Portland Hospital welcomes visitors to its Pregnancy Open Day
The Portland Hospital is a sister hospital to The Lister Hospital. The Portland Hospital is opening its doors to welcome visitors on Sunday 10th October 2010 from 10:30am to 4:30pm to its Pregnancy Open Day at 205-209 Great Portland Street, London, W1W 5AH.
The open day provides an ideal opportunity for parents-to-be and medical professionals to visit the UK’s largest, private maternity unit which has undergone a major redesign programme including our new obstetric floors. Guests are offered guided tours of the hospital’s facilities including the delivery suites, maternity wards and nurseries.
Visitors can also take a look at the Maternal & Fetal Wellbeing Centre for Imaging Services to see examples of some amazing 3D/4D ultrasound technology including moving and still images of babies whilst in the womb.
Consultants and midwives are on hand throughout the day to meet visitors and offer one-to-one free of charge advice. Complimentary massages or reflexology treatments* are also offered to mums-to-be as well as receiving a special luxury goodie bag worth over £40 to take home, packed full of exclusive products from leading suppliers and includes useful healthcare information. During the day mums-to-be can also have the opportunity to take a free ‘Bump Photo’ courtesy of Imagethirst photographers*.
Refreshments are available throughout the day including morning pastries, a buffet lunch and afternoon tea. The open day is free to all who are either pregnant or just thinking about having a baby. Portland Hospital chief executive Janene Madden, who incidentally gave birth to her latest baby at the Portland not too long ago, said she is always delighted to welcome parents-to-be to our open days. The Open Day provides a wonderful opportunity for visitors to find out valuable information about pregnancy and birthing, meet the staff, midwives and consultants and tour the hospital’s facilities.
